A 47-year-old singer is a sensation on the web
A 47-year-old Scottish woman has become an internet star, attracting 11.7 million visitors to the video-sharing site YouTube in just a few days, after her stunning vocal performance last weekend on a British television show.
Scottish Susan Boyle, who became a global star after her participation in a British television song competition, admits “never believing” that she would go “this far”, in an interview published Sunday by the Sunday Mirror.
Referring to the day of January 21, 2009 when she auditioned in her native Scotland which would select her for the show “Britain’s Got Talent”, Susan Boyle declared: “Lots of people dream of finding themselves on TV, of doing records, to entertain people. You take a chance and see how far you can go. But, frankly, I didn’t think for one minute that I would go that far.”
